Thank you all who completed my survey, which is now CLOSED. On Saturday 31st October, the Prime Minister made an announcement that a second national lockdown is imminent. You can read what he said in full here: https://www.gov.uk/government/speeches/prime-ministers-statement-on-cor…
In his speech, Boris Johnson said "Even in the South West, where incidence was so low, and still is so low, it is now clear that current projections mean they will run out of hospital capacity in a matter of weeks unless we act."
These are the proposed new national restrictions, set to come into force on Thursday 5th November 2020: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/new-national-restrictions-from-5-november
I do not believe, as it stands, that this lockdown is the right approach for West Dorset, however I must also consider the interest of wider Dorset and of the UK. I will be taking all of this into consideration before deciding on my vote in the House of Commons on Wednesday and warmly encourage constituents to share their view with me.
