Chris Loder, MP for West Dorset, has welcomed the news that all GP surgeries in his constituency are set to transition from analogue to digital telephony by next March as part of a £240 million package. So far, 5 GP surgeries have signed up in principle in West Dorset. The proposed changes means that patients will not be left on hold and struggling to book an appointment. The local MP said:
“These changes will make it easier and quicker for NHS patients to contact their GP surgery. Patients will also be able to find out exactly how their request will be handled on the day of their call, rather than being told to call back later. Better online systems will also be implemented to provide additional options for patients.”
