Pupils of Cheselbourne Primary School in West Dorset welcomed their local MP Chris Loder on Friday 2nd December, to talk about life in Parliament, his work for West Dorset and to discuss improvements needed to the small village school.
Chris said: “It was great to speak to the children at Cheselbourne Primary school, to see them baking cakes and to meet the hard-working teachers and staff who keep the school running.”
The Local MP also met with Headteacher Chris Perry and Chair of Governors David Riddell to discuss ways of securing the necessary funding for improvements to school facilities, including a new rear classroom which is in need of replacement to cater for the school’s increasing attendance.
Chris continued; “I have been working hard in Parliament to lobby for better facilities for small rural schools, and now it is Cheselbourne’s turn to have some focus to see some improvements. We will continue to make the case and I look forward to discussing this situation with Dorset Council and others.”
