Chris Loder, MP for West Dorset, has advanced his long-standing campaign to increase defence spending to 2.5% by 2030. Mr Loder, who is a member of the Armed Forces Parliamentary Scheme, welcomes the Prime Minister’s announcement and has called long called for defence spending to increase.
Mr Loder said: “I back the Prime Minister’s announcement to increase defence spending to 2.5% of national income. Our national and international security is increasingly coming under threat from conflicts in Europe and the Middle East. I’m pleased that in West Dorset and the local area, we contributes to the defence of our country, with Leonardo and RNAS Yeovilton.”
He continued: “I’m also glad to hear that £3 billion in UK military aid has been announced for Ukraine this financial year. It will be used to deliver urgently needed ammunition, air defence, drones, and engineering support.”
