Chris Loder, MP for West Dorset, has entered discussions with LINK – the cash regulator – to address what he describes as a ‘cash desert’ in Lyme Regis. The MP met with Mark Pauley, LINK’s Senior Community Assessment Manager, on 18th April to discuss the current provision and future possibilities for the town.
Mr Loder said: “I’ve been campaigning to ensure access to cash in West Dorset, and Lyme Regis is one town which needs greater cash and deposit provision. As a tourist town which welcomes thousands of seasonal visitors every year, it’s critical that we avoid it becoming a cash desert. That’s why I’m working closely with LINK to explore a solution – whether it be additional ATMs, a new deposit solution, or even a new Post Office.”
