Chris Loder, MP for West Dorset, has secured further improvements for Dorchester South Station as part of his campaign for continual improvements. The work includes enlargement to the ticket hall and waiting room; a new and better waiting shelter on platform 1 and realignment of the access ramp at the front of the station. It will also see enhanced landscaping and lighting, and replacement of the existing waiting shelter on Platform 2 with a larger and enclosed facility.
Mr Loder said: “I’m glad to have secured these improvements for Dorchester South Station, which will see greater accessibility for all passengers. I’ve been working with SWR and Network Rail to improve the County Town of Dorset’s station, and I look forward to completion in July.”
He added: “I’m continuing to press the Department for Transport about getting a lift at the station, and I will be sure to provide an update on any further developments as and when they happen.”
