Chris Loder, MP for West Dorset, visited the Yeatman Hospital, Sherborne on Friday 13th October. Mr Loder was given a tour by Dawn Dawson, Chief Nursing Officer at Dorset Healthcare, and Ali Low, Matron at the Yeatman Hospital. Speaking about his visit, Mr Loder said:
“It’s been great to spend the afternoon at the Yeatman Hospital, which continues to provide a vital healthcare service for local residents. The integration of the community nursing, mental health, and social work teams means that services are comprehensive and well-coordinated. The staff at the Yeatman also provide excellent range of outpatient clinics, with orthopaedics, urology, ophthalmology, and physiology.”
The local MP, who was born at the Yeatman Hospital, successfully campaigned to reopen the Minor Injuries Unit (MIU) in March 2022 following a closure period of nearly two years.
“It’s been a pleasure to meet with so many dedicated staff who work at the Yeatman, many of whom have spoken with me today to share their perspective. I’ll always support our local NHS staff and hospitals, which provide such a high degree of healthcare to patients.”
