The health and ecological status of the River Lim in Lyme Regis has once again been probed by Chris Loder, MP for West Dorset, at a summit last Monday with South West Water’s CEO, Susan Davy. The local MP has taken an active role ensuring that the water company delivers investment and cleans up the river.
Speaking about the meeting, Mr Loder said: “I’ve today taken my concerns about the River Lim and that of local residents to the CEO of South West Water. It’s important that the water company is aware of local opinion and the views of the community in Lyme Regis.”
He continued: “Progress is being made: all six storm overflows along the river are now fitted with Event Duration Monitors, which measure the operations of a storm overflow and monitor illegal sewage spills. Additional infrastructure investment is also planned. I’ll continue to work with South West Water to ensure that the River Lim is cleaned up.”
