Chris Loder, MP for West Dorset, has welcomed the news that Wessex Internet is rolling-out full-fibre broadband to over 600 properties near Sherborne. Mr Loder met with Sally Sommers, Head of Marketing at Wessex Internet, at the Melplash Show on the 3rd September, who informed him that the villages of Holwell, Bishops Caundle, Purse Caundle, Goathill, and the surrounding areas, are soon set to benefit from connectivity to reliable, super-fast broadband as a result of the Government’s Project Gigabit scheme. Mr Loder said:
“This is brilliant news, as more properties in rural West Dorset are being provided with access to full-fibre broadband. Wessex Internet have a firm commitment to ensuring that no areas in the countryside are left behind, and I am glad that these villages near Sherborne are set to benefit from the company’s investment. More investment is on the way. By March 2024, another contract worth nearly £15 million to West Dorset will be awarded to ensure that properties and businesses across the constituency are connected.”
