On 9th January, Chris Loder, the new MP for West Dorset was successful in being drawn fifth in the Private Members’ Bills Ballot at the House of Commons.
This gives the opportunity for the West Dorset MP to introduce a Private Members’ Bill on a subject of his choice, with a high chance of it becoming law.
Mr Loder said: ‘I’m very pleased that as your new MP for West Dorset I have this opportunity to make new legislation that benefits our community, but, before I go forward to the next stage, I’d really like to understand constituents’ priorities before submitting the Bill’.
Constituents in West Dorset are invited to submit their suggestions to Chris Loder online by visiting www.chrisloder.co.uk/members-bill no later than Friday 17th January 2020.

Private Members' Bills are Public Bills introduced by MPs and Lords who are not government ministers. As with other Public Bills their purpose is to change the law as it applies to the general population. Chris Loder MP was drawn fifth out of twenty, from a total of 439 MPs in the Ballot held on 9th January 2020.
