On the 17th November, Chris Loder, MP for West Dorset, has welcomed the news that the new the new Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) in Yeovil is expected to be completed by March 2024 – over 6 months ahead of the original target. Construction on the new centre is already well underway, which when operational will be open seven days a week and will provide more than 70,000 diagnostic tests and outpatient appointments each year.
Mr Loder said: “It’s fantastic news that the new CDC in Yeovil will be completed ahead of schedule. Constituents in West Dorset, especially those living in the north of the constituency, will benefit from vital diagnostic support in a range of areas, including radiology, endoscopy, cardiology, and audiology, helping to identify conditions early and reduce NHS waiting times. The new centre in Yeovil is one of 160 centres across the UK that will be completed ahead of schedule and backed by £2.3 billion in capital funding.”
