It is with the deepest sorrow that we learn of Prince Philip’s passing.
I have today written to Her Majesty the Queen on behalf of all of us here in West Dorset, to send her and the Royal Family our deepest sympathies on the passing of her husband, Prince Philip.
His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh visited West Dorset with the Queen on a number of occasions. To Sherborne in 1998 and again in 2012 where they visited the Abbey as part of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee tour, and to Dorchester in 2016 when Queen Mother Square was opened.
I am so desperately sorry for the Queen in her loss and hope that she will be sustained at this time with the love and affection of so many here in Dorset.
