West Dorset MP Chris Loder has urged the Minister for School Standards Nick Gibb to make funding provision to replace the outdated ‘temporary’ classrooms at the Gryphon School in Sherborne, after a campaign that has been progressing for over a year.
The temporary classrooms were put up in the 1990s – in which Mr Loder was actually taught! The local MP doubled down on his campaign to the Minister during Education Questions on the 28th November, urging action over the state of the classrooms which have deteriorated to such an extent that a request for severe-needs funding to sort the situation out has been made.
Mr Loder was assured that the Government is expected to announce 300 successful school rebuilding bids by the end of December.
