Chris Loder, MP for West Dorset, has welcomed the news that schools in his constituency will receive record-funding of £83,412,652 for 2024-25 through the National Funding Formula. The announcement was made as part of that schools in England will benefit from a total share of £60 billion – the highest ever level of funding in real terms per pupil. Speaking about the investment, Mr Loder said:
“This is fantastic news by Department for Education, which will see schools in West Dorset receiving at least £4,600 per primary school pupil, and at least £6,000 per secondary school pupil. This vital investment can be used for staff salaries, school trips and classroom equipment.”
“I recently wrote to all primary school headteachers in West Dorset asking for their views on the National Funding Formula, as I was concerned about a funding disparity between urban and rural areas. As such, I shared headteachers’ feedback directly with the Schools Minister.”
