Chris Loder, MP for West Dorset, is inviting his constituents to provide feedback on the topic of rural energy. The local MP has launched his own consultation to receive the latest views of West Dorset households and residents, their experiences with recent energy support schemes, and their views regarding the Government’s current proposals. Mr Loder said:
“The recent energy crisis has seen the Government support local people with record amounts of financial aid. And given the extent of the constituency that is without access to the gas grid, I am keen to understand the latest opinions from local people”.
Mr Loder has challenged the Government’s proposal to phase out the installation of high carbon fossil fuel heating systems from 2026. The West Dorset MP is concerned that the rural voice and lifestyle risks being disproportionately affected.
