Cheselbourne Village School is set to receive a new modern building following the support of Chris Loder, MP for West Dorset. The local MP visited the premises in December 2022, where he pledged to support the School’s ambitions for a new building with classroom space and toilet facilities. Speaking about the new building, Mr Loder commented:
“When I visited Cheselbourne Village School last year, it was clear that staff and pupils needed additional space for learning. I immediately pledged my support to help the School achieve its goal, and I am glad that not even a year later, the building application has been approved and construction work will begin soon.”
Asked about the impact the new building will have, Chris Perry, Headteacher of Cheselbourne Village School, said: “The construction of a new modern building at our school represents a significant step towards enhancing the education of our children. The improvements of important factors, such as toilet facilities, and the expansion in size offer a multitude of benefits.”
He continued: “The increased space in the new building provides opportunities for improved learning environments. With more room for pupils to learn in a busy and purposeful way, and improvement to our resources, our educators can use innovative teaching methods and provide a more rounded education for our children. The new building will foster collaborative learning, extracurricular activities, and a sense of improved wellbeing among pupils and staff. The construction of a new building is a vital investment in our children's education, setting the stage for a brighter future.”
