Chris Loder, MP for West Dorset, has welcomed the approval of full planning permission by Dorset Council for thedevelopment of a new Emergency Department and Critical Care Unit at Dorset County Hospital. Once completed, Dorset County Hospital will be equipped with a rooftop helipad, a dedicated mental health facility, and 24 critical care beds. Mr Loder said:
“Initial preliminary works are already well underway the site of the former Damers First School where the new buildings will be constructed. I visited the site back in July, which has since been cleared and is ready for groundworks to prepare the site for development later this month. Main construction work is set to begin as early as 2024; the team at Dorset County Hospital has my full support, and I will continue to work closely with them to ensure that they have all the resources they require.”
