Chris Loder, MP for West Dorset, is championing a new Government-backed campaign to ensure young people harness a range of educational and skill-based programmes on offer to them. The ‘Skills for Life’ initiative is operated by the Department for Education and provides free, impartial signposting advice to motivate and equip young people to make informed choices and to gain the skills and qualifications they need to progress in life. The local MP said:
“I’m fully aware of the challenges young people face in West Dorset. Rural living is not the easiest, especially when it comes to gaining a good education and experiencing upward social mobility. The ‘Skills for Life’ initiative provides a wide range of information for our young people, with details on education and career routes after leaving school.”
Mr Loder continued: “I’d strongly advise all young people in West Dorset to take the time to look at what is on offer on the ‘Skills for Life’ website. There is plenty on offer. If you would like to speak to me about this or your other options, please do contact me and I would be more than happy to help.”
