Chris Loder, MP for West Dorset, joined officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team and the Force Support Group on a drug raid at two addresses in Bridport on the 24th January. The local MP witnessed first-hand a warrant at an address in Gore Cross Way and Doctor Roberts Close.
Mr Loder said: “It was really insightful to join officers on a drug raid in Bridport on the 24th January. It is good to see that the police are tackling this blight of drug crime and anti-social behaviour first hand.”
During the warrant, officers located and seized large quantities of class B drugs, cash, cigarettes and vapes. Two individuals were arrested on suspicion of possessing with intent to supply class B drugs.
Sergeant Michael Brown, of Bridport Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “We will not give up on pursuing those who are suspected of being involved in the supply of illegal drugs in our area. We know that reported drug-related activity has a detrimental effect on our communities, and we value any information from members of the public that helps us to build an intelligence picture.”
“If you have any information regarding suspected drug-related activity, contact us at www.dorset.police.uk/contact. If a crime is in progress, always dial 999.”
