West Dorset’s MP Chris Loder has secured an unprecedented victory for unfairly fined motorists in Bridport by the car parking firm Euro Car Parks at Morrisons supermarket and has secured refunds for many motorists.
Bridport’s local MP reached out to the community earlier in the year after observing on social media the number of people reporting being fined unjustifiably through the new Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras. Mr Loder escalated the issue with both Morrisons and Euro Car Parks after several residents got in touch to share their own experiences.
Mr Loder said: “After pursuing the car parking firm responsible for hounding several members of the community for unpaid fines, I was able to secure refunds for many of those who have been so badly affected by the actions of this parking company. I will continue to apply pressure to ensure Euro Car Parks do not treat loyal customers with the same contempt in the future.”
